East Boston FC is a volunteer-driven and neighborhood-based recreational soccer club that provides PreK -12 programming at free or low-cost to families

ABOUT THE CLUB

Purpose

EBFC was created to continue to address the opportunity gap in the East Boston community for recreational youth programming. The club also addresses the gaps in Boston Scores’ traditional school-based program model to serve all interested youth and families.

Our Philosophy

EBFC and its coaches emphasize holistic player development that focuses on character building, skill development, and community. We prioritize positive youth development over competition, and aim to develop confident, well-rounded individuals. We aim to install a lifelong love of the game, while also fostering essential life skills.

Objectives

The goal of EBFC is to create a meaningful soccer community for families and athletes within East Boston. This includes providing instruction for participation in soccer, and facilitating the holistic development of youth.

Governance

EBFC is governed by an Advisory Board, and Boston Scores provides backbone support for EBFC in partnership with the Salesian Boys and Girls Club of East Boston.

Yes! We encourage Boston Scores families with a child who loves soccer to do both! The timing of the two programs allows for a child to do both. Boston Scores practices are after-school, while EBFC practices are later in the evening, after 5 pm. Practices and games for EBFC are on different days than the Boston Scores school game days as well.

Travel: Travel teams will have separate girl’s and boy’s teams.

Viaje: Habrá un equipo separado de niñas para el programa de equipo de viaje de EBFC.

Grassroots: Teams will be co-ed from PreK to 2nd grade. Depending on the amount of registrants, we plan to have separate girl’s and boy’s teams starting in 3rd grade. This will be decided based on registration numbers.

Grassroots: Dependiendo del número de niños y niñas que se inscriban en el programa “Grassroots”, nuestra intención es tener equipos solo de niñas y solo de niños.

Yes! Families registering multiple children will receive a 25% discount.

¡Sí! Las familias que inscriban a varios niños recibirán un descuento del 25%.

For Spring 2025, the Travel Teams will be participating in the Boston Soccer League within BAYS. This league is only for the 7 inner-city Boston clubs (Dorchester, East Boston, Hill House, Jamaica Plain, South Boston, South End, Parkway/West Roxbury).

Reminder that travel is not provided for Travel Teams

Click here to see the BAYS League Map.

Yes! If your child does not live in an Eastie zipcode they can still participate in EBFC. There are no restrictions for our Grassroots program. For our Travel Team, we will simply need to obtain a waiver for your child to participate.

Unfortunately, no. The programs overlap too much for a child to do both Grassroots and Travel Teams.

There are no cuts at East Boston FC! So if your child wants to play on a Travel team, they will!

The travel teams for the Fall 2025 Season will be:

  • 3rd grade
  • 4th grade
  • 5th grade
  • 6th grade

Unfortunately, 2nd graders cannot participate in the BAYS travel league.

If families register before July 1st you will receive a $10 discount.

For families who have multiple children in the program, you will need to register the second child immediately following the prompts to utilize this auto discount

Only 1 discount can be applied per cart so the Early Bird and Sibling discount cannot be combined
